Figures and portraits

The human figure has always been my main focus, and am interested not only in the physicality of the subject, but in exploring and expressing its inner essence. My modelling technique is free and lively, so that even static poses can take on an inner energy and dramatic tension, with line, texture and form all vital elements of the finished piece. I work in clay, and cast small limited editions in a variety of resin finishes, mainly bronze, copper, iron and marble, with patinas chosen to suit each piece.
